Finding an Effective Therapist:
Numerous studies show that it is connection with the right therapist that opens up the individual’s innate capacity to grow and to heal. I know that instinctual capacity to heal is present; so it is my job to support your goals/your journey. It is an honor to help clients gain the insight and skills they need to overcome challenges that inhibit personal success and healthy relationships. My approach is to challenge; and always to support, to listen, and to work together to explore new perspectives and develop more satisfying behaviors.
I offer a free 30-minute consultation in order to begin the process of introduction and investigation.
My Theoretical Perspective:
In order to address individual needs, I incorporate aspects of Psychodynamic Theories, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment Theory, Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, and Humanistic and Solution-Focused therapies. I implement useful techniques that support change, such as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Mindfulness therapy helps develop awareness of habitual patterns and reactions; and makes space for healthy transformation.
My Education and Training:
I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. I am a Certified Somatic Experiencing Practioner: SEP is a naturalistic approach to understanding and resolving trauma symptoms.
I am a certified Prepare/Enrich Counselor. My private practice is located in Lafayette, CA.
Fees and Payment:
Please call to discuss my fee for each 50-minute session. Credit cards are accepted.
I understand that psychotherapy is an investment, and I do have a limited number of reduced fee appointment times. Let me know if you would like to discuss your individual needs.
I do not bill health insurance; however I provide monthly statements if requested. Your insurance coverage may provide for out-of-network care.
I am a California Victims of Crime provider.
